The journey continues…🏃🏻‍♀️

Second day in Jodhpur...  I was dragged out of bed because my mom and aunt wanted to go for a walk and god knows why they wanted to take me along! They could have considered papa or Mausa ji as suitable candidates but nooo, they had to choose me, muttering something about girl gang. They really need to act their age! 😳What a marvelous start to the day!!! After a thousand morning photo shoots, all around and in every nook and cranny of Hotel, we met up with the others at the dining hall and did justice to delicious breakfast spread and commenced the journey to Jaisalmer. We had hired a tempo traveller... On the way, we visited Umaid Bhavan Palace museum and got acquainted with its history dating back 1925 or so... As is the norm, we clicked some 100 pictures once outside the museum ... NO BLUFFING. I don’t joke about phone storage 📱. After that, we spent like 6 hours travelling to Jaisalmer. 6 damn hours!  Enroute, my grandparents, aunt and parents stopped to visit Sanchiya M...

Rajasthan, the journey begins ✈️..

Ghani Khamma.Ahh! the scorching sun, majestic forts, breath taking lakes, delectable dishes and witheringly cold nights, do not do justice to an  experience that is "Rajasthan". My trip was a welcome getaway from  routine after a long time..💆🏻‍♀️  Sleeping past midnight and getting up at 5:00 AM to get ready for 9:00 AM flight is what I did.  Waking up four hours before flight was necessary with four persons sharing two bathrooms and I needing half an hour of extensive beauty time. What, a girl needs to live!  Once everyone was done, we booked a cab. I might have made a rookie mistake of booking one hatchback for four travelers with heavy luggage! And let me tell you, it's no fun being cramped with three other family members on the backseat with mom glaring at me all the way to airport.😩😩 We reached  the airport early and had to wait nearly one hour for the  flight after the security check. and now it was my turn to glare at mom for waking up so ea...

Stress to de stress

Hi Folks👋 Guess what is common between Thai green curry, music and sleep? Guess…guess…🧐🧐 Flinging my  school bag away to Antartica, slipping off my shoes and yelling an 'I am home, I plop  on the oh-so-soft couch. Closing my  tired  eyes for a minute,   yearning for  a warm blanket and  hot chocolate,  or  lounging in a  quiet, scenic beach,  sipping coconut cocktail and watching the sunset. Then  the reality hits !....I  am  in the  class with teacher shouting for pin drop silence & students  paying no heed. Oh! My  imagination surprises (and scares) me sometimes.😬 But this kind of relaxation even though imaginary, is self pleasing after all those hours of slogging on equations and formulas.. Anyways, I had exams coming up like almost every week at it is a fricking pain in the neck. After my exams I made a ‘No study materials allowed’ poster and stuck it outside my room.  Of course no...

Good reads

Hola folks🤟🏼  Last year, most of my time was spent doomscrolling. And by most, I mean all🤣🤫. So this time my   mom wanted me to focus more on studying in the holidays (ya’ll know teen pressure). But necessity is the mother of ‘discovery’. I rummaged through my father’s book collection which I didn’t even know existed until 3 weeks ago and by the look of it, I don’t think my mother will have to buy me books again. There are some really awesome picks I recommend everyone should read. 👍 First up, we have 20,000 leagues under the sea by Jules Verne. Yeah I know you’ll think that it is a classic so it will be written in that Shakespearean verse which no one communicates with and will be really boring and all , but trust me it’s not. I mean the language is pretty modern and the book’s actual theme is really surprising as the book is about a submarine. You heard me right folks,  decades before the actual invention of the submarine, Jules Verne gave a very accurate descripti...

Stage fear

My heart was beating so loud and fast that the audience could probably hear it. My knees were shaking, threatening to give away any minute. Any minute now they would call my name and there I’ll go, towards my doom. I walked up the stage (more like stumbled..) and gulped. Oh no! There were like 200 people there and all ready to see me as a laughing stock. I closed my eyes took a deep breathe and remembered what I told myself yesterday ‘People are just people, they can’t hold me down.’ And I began my speech. I pretended there was no one in the room and kept moving my eyes from one wall to another. All the lines I thought I had forgotten came rushing back. I had a rocky start but a smooth ending. The audience clapped. Before I knew it, the event was over but many people came to congratulate me. I inwardly smiled knowing that, from that day, that the fear itself  was the key to my magical performance. My hardwork was rewarded and a small sapling of confidence had begun to sprout....

Negative marking😰

Hi guys! Sorry I haven’t written for such a long time but I had exams so it didn’t leave much time to write. Anyways, here goes nothing...  I know the biggest fear of secondary and higher secondary school students. Trust me, I do! It’s negative marking. The most frightening thing in the world for a student! Recently, I took my first negative marking test. And oh boy! I was a walking talking bucket of sweat. And I hadn’t even prepared that well so I was in confusion for almost half the paper. First of all, I don’t even understand the concept of negative marking. Like, why is it even needed? The teachers are just showing their desperation for reducing marks! Or maybe they are trying to scare the students away so that there are less papers to check! Whichever the case, I know one thing for sure, ‘Some teachers are nightmares dressed like daydreams’. Okay, maybe that was a stretch but you get what I mean.🙄 During the whole test my mind was in a dilemma, one telling me to go ahead and ...

Hard, understandable changes

Hey guys, I am back! Lying on my bed last night I don’t know why but my mind went on philosophical mode and suddenly you know aha! realisation  dawned on me (I know this philosophical track is a bit goody-goody but..) Stopped! Just stopped! This is exactly what happened to our lives. Coronavirus stopped us in our tracks. We just stopped going out of the house! But now we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Vaccines are finally here. You know, during mid-lockdown if someone had asked me how I would feel once we were safe again, I would have danced with joy and would have rushed out of the house like a maniac. But now, I am not so sure... I mean sure I am really happy but kinda disappointed that I won’t get to attend school online from the comfort of home. See, what I noticed this lock down was that while adults became self reliant ( reluctantly!), students became reliant on tech.  We forgot our own schedules and principles. We started using google during the tests,...
