Shark tank India ๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿผ‍๐Ÿ’ผ๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿ’ผ

Readers, hello and welcome to Shark tank  shark tank blog. Yes, yes ,yes this blog is going to be about the reality show which recently completed one season #sharktankindia . You guys were able to engage a fickle minded teenager to this show.  Take a bow please . ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ.

It kinda turned into a family show for us, you know? All three of us, my dad, mom and me watched each and every episode of it. Few times even my  Nana  and Nani joined us.   A standing ovation to the person who pitched the idea of bringing out a S.T. India version. Like seriously, you guys made a 14 year old (cough me cough) talk in shark lingo which is so different from  millennial lingo.  No, really, now whenever my mother asks us whether she should make khichadi or Dalia, I say and I quote “ I am not able to connect with either of your items, so for that reason I am out” or when she tells me to study I say “I don’t have any expertise in this field , so I am afraid I am out.” ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿคฃ.

Before the show, I had least interest in idea of entrepreneurship but now  I have a smattering knowledge of business terms like equity, loan, valuation, market share inter alia . My parents  got more than they bargained and I am certainly not making it easier for them with my sharky lingo.

There was this one instance when we were doing ‘Climate’ chapter in school and I couldn’t get the hang of it....  Mentally switching off I floated to lal la land and shouted “ yeh sab doglapan hai”.   Next time while preparing for exams I again switched off and  in la la land i heard my teacher saying  “Tu chinta mat kar, main de dunga” for marks. . Wonder why I am granted entry in la la land only when I open my study books. Hmm..๐Ÿง

But, all jokes apart, this was the first show I could watch without my mother criticizing my choice. It also taught me about equity and shares. Now whenever my mom says “Help in the cleaning, I am not the only one who lives here” I answer “I have barely 5% equity of the house ( Even though I have one room to myself in three bedroom house !)   and  will need 33%  to get my skin in the game”. And oh god! Her face! It was like she was cursing herself for letting me watch the damn show! ๐Ÿ˜…

But one irksome thing which came out of this is that now my mother is contemplating   me becoming an entrepreneur saying “It is basically job creation, which is a noble act dear~” but in reality I know she wants me to appear on television.  And now in addition to studies,  my mom has another goal for me - Entrepreneur. Arghhh๐Ÿ˜ฅ But on the brighter side, sharks, please prepare  for greeting me in 2032!๐Ÿฅณ

But in all seriousness, the show certainly introduced me to products and categories I had no idea existed.   It was pleasure watching entrepreneurs make their pitch with a  passion to sharks.  My favorite pitch was Annie, a learning device for the visually impaired. And of course, all the food related pitches had my mouth watering even  though  it was an after dinner show.. And the pitch of motion analysis sportswear was great even if I am not so hooked on sports. Sabji Kothi was something I had never even thought about and only after the pitch did I realise that the problem had been right in front of me the whole time! And hands off to the makers of anti suicide rods. Kudos to you to come up with such a useful and important idea! Oh forgot to mention The  clincher in season finale was the pitch made by Lenskart founder, taking  us back a decade to year 2010 when it was not such a household name.

What I realised  is that  most startups are trying to solve day to day problems we face. Hmmm..when will someone come up with an  automatic study  machine  / app  for students who don’t want to study ๐Ÿ™ƒ…

On a somber  note, hopefully shark tank and similar shows will create a buzz around entrepreneurship and job creation, something the country needs more than anything. It gave a chance to people without IIT-IIM or business background to come forth with their ideas.  Wow, I had no idea I could be so deep๐Ÿค“

So anyways, do share your views about the show in the comment section below. Signing out, your fave blogger..Toodles๐Ÿ‘‹
