THE EXCURSION🛩

Vacation. The time of the year children's (especially students) mental health is at it’s best. The time when the appearance of ward ( From parental perspective) in bed before 3am and out of bed before 12pm would give you heart attack!. . Ahh…the joy of not having to wake up to that god so annoying alarm! ⏰

Ram-ram readers (side effects of UP)! Hope you all are enjoying your vacations and if you are an adult, not having summer break, too bad!

So in the last of vacays, I went to…drumroll…Gurgaon-Meerut! Kinda weird combination but almost all of my family members are in North India, spread out from Delhi to Lucknow..  I was visiting them for the 1st time. I was so exciteddd and nervous as this was a solo trip!. . When it came to packing, Instead of mom, it was me who was wearing out our carpet by pacing to & fro . ‘I have kept that right?’’ will I need this’ and so on... Given my lack of athletic prowess, even mom was surprised to see me so hyper! 🏃‍♀️

Did I mention that this was my first time travelling alone  in the flight ! (only, I was going).  Fell  asleep at about 12 in night  and woke up at 6 am ( surprisingly !)  to reach the airport for 8:30 AM Flight. . Adrenalin was my only fuel at the moment.

River Front - On way to Airport

The check-in was uneventful except for this one time when I thought my bag had been exchanged. The scare lasted a few minutes not only about loosing the bag but also facing the wrath of mom! 😡Thankfully, it turned out to be mere hallucination as it was my suitcase. Then after a couple of calls, photoshoots and trips to the restroom, I finally boarded the plane and Lo behold, there I was, flying towards Delhi!🛫

When I landed, thankfully without a hitch, I was picked up and dropped at Bua’s place by papa. 🛬

There I was welcomed by hugs and kisses and mango shakes and muffins!I swear, I was on the seventh heaven!  After a  heavy  lunch and a couple of calls from ‘mommy dearest’ I was finally reunited with my love, my beauty sleep. I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. Then, I woke up after a refreshinggg nap and still, half  drowsy,  I went downstairs, mumbling incoherent words (nothing new there). Then I explored Bua’s beautifully maintained backyard and my intensive photo session followed (I swear, if my phone could glare, I would have been six feet beneath the ground).📱

Around that time Chachu-Chachi arrived and again after many hugs and greetings we all settled down for a ‘chai pe charcha’ (if you consider green tea as tea). After a scrumptious dinner, I left  for Meerut with  them. I felt sleepy about half an hour into the drive and I was adamant to not sleep, god knows why! At around 11.30 PM we had reached Meerut. Uff I was so tired even after a 4 HOUR LONG ‘power nap’ in the afternoon. And after intros and barks (courtesy of Shadow the pet dog) and social media, I finally settled down for the night.

That was the first day of my excursion, an excursion which blew up my fitbit records to 10000 steps (no kidding)! Anyways do comment  about how you spend your vacations in the comment section below. Ram-Ram!🙏

FUN FACT: I actually used to call Meerut as Meeroot (pronounced as me stretching the ee + root). When my parents corrected me, I was dumbfounded. Why haven't they spelled the name as Merath?⁉️

  1. Very interesting blog. You have a lovely style of expressing your self and events. I appreciate you to visit closed and extended family. members.
This is the need of the hour when families are shrinking to nuclie families because of changing circumstances. Such adventures give you opportunities to understand peole and allow others to be understood. Great thing is that you decided to go all alone. The world is a social laboratry where, experimenting, you undesr stand social values.
    Keep it up.
